This week has found me carefully contemplating a handful of potential new directions for my career and spending a lot of time in my head as a result. Fortunately, I've learned over time that there is equal importance (and absolute value) in mapping out activities that are just fun to do, even if they're only bubblegum for the brain type indulgences. Infact, I make a point of breaking from my stressful work routine to celebrate my general ridiculousness with great consistency (more on that to come).
And though there's still a fair amount of "grinding it out" to do before I can call it quits for the day, I'm very much looking forward to a fantastic weekend. I plan to visit with my talented winemaker friends at Bonacquisti where for just twenty smackaroos, you can attend their Wine and Chocolate Weekend featuring a small batch artisan chocolates (by Roberta's Chocolates) that are expertly paired with awarding winning wines all while taking in the sweet sounds of Three Squared, a local quartet who will be playing live jazz. My senses are hungry for this type of laid back hanging out. I can't wait!
So wherever you find yourself this weekend, you owe it to yourself to do the things that put a smile on your face (even if it's a nerdy ass sci fi weekend in front of the TV with a greasy bag of chips). More than that, consider how the quality of your life would improve if you made a point of doing something that made you happy every single day (big or small, mental or physical). Seriously! Every. Single. Day. It's that life changing.
