My Facebook friends jokingly suggested I buy those crazy pajama jeans featured on TV, mainly because I seem to live more in pajamas than in real clothes. My first realization was, "Goodness, how the heck did my wardrobe get this far out of control?" Continuing down this path inevitably leads to becoming a full blown dirty hermit or a saggy bottomed hoarder.
While this is a bit of a self inflicted ego sting, it just means that I need to start making plans that require me to show up to places in something other than fleece or flannel. As part of my recovery process, here's a few highlights from my 2011 social calendar! Email me if you're attending any of these events so we can bump into each other.
King Tut @ Denver Art Museum
This exhibit only runs through January 9th before it leaves Denver, so this is a great time to catch it before it's gone! I was surprised to see that it's featured at the DAM versus the DMNS though science nerds still get to see the canopic jar that held Tut's internal organs. Admit it, even non-nerds won't be able to look away.
Estes Park Winter Festival
I've never been, but this festival touts a magical ice castle complete with an ice slide and ice maze. I must take my kids to see this (and restrain myself from sticking my tongue on the sparkly ice structures in front of them)! Plus there are warmer areas where you can enjoy wine and beer tastings, listen to live music and check out a chili cook-off. Are you feeling all cozy and winter-fied yet?
Wine, Chocolate, and Spa Social for Women
Sip wine with your girlfriends (and meet new ones), sample chocolates and partake in a guided tour of the winery. This event repeats on the 4th Tuesday every 3 months and is hosted at Water 2 Wine in Greenwood Village.
Kempe Takes Paris Gala Event
This is a great opportunity to get dressed in your Parisian best for a Friday night fete to benefit abused and neglected children treated at Kempe. It's hosted at the Denver Marriott City Center and I'm already thinking of ways to achieve that certain je ne sais quoi...
If you have any fun happenings you'd like to share, please shoot me an email or add a comment. Happiest New Year dear readers and cheers!
